WE MIRROR CHRIST’S LOVE FOR MIGRANTS.
Facilitating the integration of new migrants into Australia by establishing connections for meaningful job opportunities.
The EMERGE Program is tailored to assist new migrants with their employment and integration in Australia. It is designed to eliminate the obstacles faced by new migrants when seeking employment in Australia through mentorship.
Over 30% of Australia's population is born overseas. Language barriers, changing social capital, mismatched skills and jobs, difficulties in getting overseas skill recognition and increased housing costs are some of the challenges immigrants face in integration.
EMERGE employment journey consists of three distinct stages:
-
SURVIVAL JOBS - Jobs that may not align with your long-term career goals but are necessary for your immediate sustenance.
-
PATHWAY JOBS - Jobs that serve as stepping stones toward achieving higher-level career goals.
-
CAREER JOBS - Jobs that align with your skills, interests, and long-term career objectives.
Each stage of the meaningful employment journey plays a crucial role in an individual's professional development and overall well-being.
Arriving in Australia as a new migrant can be daunting, especially for someone without connections. EMERGE assists new migrants in their quest for meaningful work, supporting them to establish their own roots and thrive as secure residents of Australia.
Fostering meaningful employment for new migrants.
The EMERGE Program was established in 2020 in partnership with Evangelism and New Churches (ENC) to engage with the broader migrant communities of South Western Sydney.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, many lost their livelihood and struggled to find meaningful employment. In collaboration with local employment partners, EMERGE facilitated resume writing and interview preparation. We recommended our candidates to our employment partners, and advocated for their skill sets.
We currently offer specialised programs that support new migrants through a mentorship program that journeys with them in their job search and resettlement needs.

To facilitate the integration of migrants into the workforce, our Employment partners are committed to offering employment opportunities through direct hiring or providing comprehensive training/ internship opportunities. Employment partners empower the migrants by equipping them with the necessary skills and experiences to thrive in their new communities. Employment partners can contribute financially to the Emerge Program (contributions are tax-deductible). Employment partners will actively engage in Emerge partner forums. These forums serve as invaluable platforms where partners provide insightful feedback, ensuring our program's continuous relevance and effectiveness. By actively involving our partners in shaping the initiative's direction, we ensure that our efforts align closely with the evolving needs of migrants and the Australian labour market. Emerge is committed to promoting our employer partners within our extensive networks through targeted marketing campaigns and prominent placement on the Emerge website in return for their support and collaboration. Emerge is proud to partner with churches and faith-based organizations in our collaborative efforts to support migrants on their journey towards employment and integration. Our partners play a pivotal role by offering financial support to sustain our ministry and leveraging their networks to enlist dedicated volunteers who serve as mentors, guiding migrants through the intricacies of navigating the Australian employment landscape. This partnership facilitates vital connections with potential employers and mentors who can guide and support migrants. By tapping into their established networks and community outreach programs, our partners extend a welcoming hand to migrants, providing them with essential resources and support systems as they strive to develop themselves in their new homes. Furthermore, these partnering organizations serve as the focal point for implementing the Emerge Mentoring program within their local communities.
